I am 8-1 only lost to Toru 2 on a fluke. Not enough throws. First game left him at 3, second at 7. Built too many foundations too quickly. Deck is fine just bad luck on my end

Hey I'm new to the game. In the original rules it says you can only play character cards that are the same as your main character. I'm guessing their was some rule change, but I don't know where to find that. I would appreciate some info on this topic.
